The Green Bay Gamblers were defeated by the Chicago Steel (19-18-1) by a 1-0 regulation mark Friday night at the Resch Center. With the loss, Green Bay fell to 19-15-5 through its first 39 games of the 2013-2014 regular season, but remains in fourth place (43 PTS) in the Eastern Conference with Muskegon losing to Youngstown
Cam Hackett made his ninth appearance of the season as Green Bay’s starting goaltender, successfully saving 30 of Chicago’s 31 shots on goal in the contest. His valiant effort, however, was for not as the Steel shut out the Gamblers for the first time since Jan. 25, 2008.
Green Bay will return to the Resch Center tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. CT against Cedar Rapids (23-14-1) for Retro Night and again Sunday afternoon when they take on Dubuque (25-11-1) on ‘School is Cool’ Family night.
