Back-to-back goals from Brent Gates Jr. and Kevin Irwin evened Sunday night’s game against Sioux Falls to 2-2, but the Stampede offense proved too much for Green Bay late as Sioux Falls came out victorious by a 5-3 regulation mark.
Jared Rutledge got the start in goal for the Gamblers, saving 20 of the Stampede’s 24 shots. Ryan Siroky tallied his ninth goal of the season in the contest, Evan Tironese tabbed two assists and Connor Hurley, Matt Weis and Jake Linhart each notched an assist of their own.
Green Bay’s regular season record now stands at 21-17-6 through 44 games and its season points mark remains at 48 – good enough for fourth place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.
The Gamblers will return home to the Resch Center Friday, Feb. 21 for a two-game home stand against the Youngstown Phantoms. Puck drops at 7:05pm CT in both contests.
