The Green Bay Gamblers got the fast start they needed Friday night against Tri-City, when Jake Linhart connected with his second goal of the season early in the second period to give the Gamblers the 1-0 lead.
However, the Storm rallied back to score a one of their own in the same period and another in the third frame to capture the come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Green Bay. With the loss, the Gamblers dropped to 25-23-6 with six games remaining in the regular season. Chicago and Muskegon losses kept the Gamblers tied for the Eastern Conference’s final postseason spot.
Cam Hackett started in goal for Derek Lalonde and company, tallying 22 saves in 24 attempts. Hackett’s road stats this season remain impressive, though, boasting a .913 save rate and mere 2.47 goals allowed average over eight starts.
The Gamblers will cap the weekend with another game tonight in Tri-City, with the puck scheduled to drop at 7:05 p.m. CT.
