The Youngstown Phantoms completed their weekend sweep of the Green Bay Gamblers with a 4-2 regulation victory Saturday night at the Covelli Centre. With the loss, Green Bay dropped to 13-15-4 over its first 32 games, but with some help from around the league, managed to maintain its grasp on sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Kevin Reich received his tenth start of the season in net for head coach Pat Mikesch, successfully saving 36 of 39 (92.3%) shots against him. Derek Barach grabbed his sixth goal of the season in the loss, and in the process extended his goals streak to three games – tying a team-best mark. Sam Miletic secured his first goal since Dec. 10 in the contest, additionally.
With the loss in the rearview mirror, the Gamblers will travel back home in preparation for next Friday night’s matchup with first-place Cedar Rapids.
