Gamblers’ Early Advantage Falls Short in Fargo

The Green Bay Gamblers were defeated by the Fargo Force by a 3-2 regulation mark Friday evening at Scheels Arena in Fargo, N.D. Pat Mikesch’s roster skated out to a two-goal advantage to begin the final period of play, but ceded a pair of power-play goals and another even-strength score late in the third, which sealed the victory for the Force. With the loss, Green Bay dropped to 14-21-5 (33 PTS).

Minnesota State recruit Jason Pawloski received his twenty-fourth start of the season between the pipes for the Gamblers, successfully saving 31-of-34 (.912%) shots on goal against him. Alabama-Huntsville commit Joey Marooney tallied his first goal with the Gamblers in the losing effort, while Ohio State recruit Jason Dhooghe netted his first career USHL goal during the second period.

With the loss behind them, the Gamblers will turn their collective attention toward the finale of their weekend road trip to Fargo, which is scheduled to take place at 7:05pm on Saturday from Scheels Arena.
