In the finale of a two-game weekend road swing, the Green Bay Gamblers were defeated by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (36-16-0) by a convincing 5-0 regulation mark Saturday evening. With the loss, the Gamblers dropped to 15-27-6 (36 PTS) and exited the weekend in the Eastern Conference’s last spot.
Jason Pawloski received his twenty-seventh start in net for Green Bay, saving 38 of 43 (.884%) shots on goal against him. Marc Michaelis led the roster with five attempts, but the Gamblers were out-shot 43-24 in the contest and went 0-for-3 on power plays. Cedar Rapids went 1-for-4 with an extra attacker.
With both weekend losses behind them, the young roster of head coach Pat Mikesch will regroup in preparation for Saturday’s road matchup at Dubuque, which is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT. Green Bay will wrap up next weekend with a home matchup against the Fighting Saints on Sunday, March 15 at 3:05 p.m. CT.
