Gamblers Drop Matchup against Fighting Saints

The Green Bay Gamblers (18-13-5) were defeated by the Dubuque Fighting Saints (24-10-1) by a 4-2 regulation mark Tuesday night at the Resch Center. Though the loss dropped Green Bay’s season win percentage to .500, they remain tied with Cedar Rapids for third place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference with 41 points.

Connor Hurley scored his ninth goal of the season in the second period, while Drew Best tabbed his tenth score of 2013-2014 soon after to tie the game 2-2. But Dubuque responded with two late goals against Jared Rutledge (who saved 32 of the Fighting Saints’ 36 shots on the night), putting the game away late by a 4-2 score.

Green Bay will travel to Lincoln (11-18-1) Friday night and Cedar Rapids (20-14-1) on Saturday before returning home to the Resch Center to take on Chicago (17-18-2) Friday, February 7.
